Aura Headpieces Setting New Trends and Meeting New Standards

Like very morning, I check my emails, read some blogs and open my facebook account… But this morning I had a great news: I saw this picture opening on my facebook! Need I say more?

Aura headpieces, who less than a year ago was only a new born beautiful brand, is today available in most international fashionistas’ favorite stop: Le Bon Marche Paris.

Seeing this put a huge smile on my face first not only because I am a very big fan myself and very often wear Carolina’s art (the designer) but also because I proudly have the pleasure to see these pieces on Lebelik’s face as well….

Looking forward for many new great news…

Morning Coffee with Black Diamonds, Indian Inspiration and Carla Skaff

My last week was one I enjoyed a lot though it drained me. So I decided to stay most of my week-end between my bedroom and the kitchen… And given that I had for the last 6 months in front of my eyes a Lego box I had offered my brother (that he never constructed – I, apparently was, 10years late); I decided to finally build my first Lego. In my life I got so accustomed to seeing my brother build Legos that for me this world was a forbidden territory, one I shall never trespass.. But here I was sitting on the floor and building my first Lego which I am very proud of. Lego in the process…My first Lego, Done!

Yesterday, monday morning as I opened my facebook I read all these curses and negative quotes about monday mornings…. Too bad for them because my week started with a warm coffee and Carla Skaff’s amazing line of jewellery inspired by her love for Indian culture… I must have misread the invitation email; I arrived there one hour earlier and found myself enjoying a great conversation with the Skaff family.

Carla is the youngest of the “Skaff Sisters” -the charming co-founders of Sunflowers-. She, on top of running their adorable boutique in Saifi, has a line of high-end jewellery. she sells mostly rings and earrings that are designed in Lebanon and produced in India…. And yesterday morning she extended he exhibition to one more day. So I went to the Skaff’s boutique and was happy to see I was welcome even though I wasn’t quite punctual. I had the intention to help them a bit with setting the small details that were left, but instead I enjoyed taking pictures…

Needless to say the Sunflower girls don’t do things half way and for Valentines each person left with a heart full of lavender…

I Spent Four Fun Days with Luby =)

Dear Reader,

I sat on my table this morning with a thousand thoughts and a hundred ideas… My little mind was so full  because – apart from yesterday (when I didn’t move from home the whole day) – I have had 4 super interesting days during which I shared with an almost stranger small secrets, heavy deserts, 2 pizzas, a bad diner experience, long roads, intense conversations, happy chicha moments and a blurry Polaroid picture. He got to meet my crazy family, some of my closest friends,  my mixed country and he even played with Freddy.

While having lunch, others were fishing and relaxing =)

On Saturday, we spent the day in Jbeil. I was happy to see there a mix of everything I love: my Phenician origins, my older ;) brother, an amazing jewelry entrepreneur (who by then was not a stranger anymore), beautiful friends and my talkative and loved cousin. But I think that by now, you all know about the people of my life, so I’ll take the opportunity to introduce to you Luis Feliu de la Pena. On Wednesday he was a stranger to many of us.. Still, during these 4 days we got to meet not only a great  and discreet entrepreneur (co-founder of Luby and Lemerald) (soon to be on Lebelik in Soraya’s Choice’s Section), but also a fun snowboarder, a strong athlete and a quite competitive Taboo player…

Walking in Jbeil – the old Phenician port

This charming man is most probably coming to visit again very soon, that’s when I hope I will have the chance to ask him some more concrete questions, and if I’m lucky I’ll convince him to give me an interview…

Meanwhile I hope you’ll enjoy surfing on Luby and Lemerald’s Website… I am sure you will be amazed by the beautiful pieces, the attention that was given to details and the story behind it (click here to read it).

Fashionably yours,

Soraya

PS: And for those who were wondering… Meet Freddy!

Many Christmas Events: Karoline Lang, Madame Reve, Joanna Dahdah

This festive season Karoline Lang’s pretty dresses, Madame Reve’s charming vintage and Joanna Dahdah’s new and always better jewelry collection put some sparkels in my eyes and made me want to ask for an even bigger list from Santa, and this is why:

Highlights of My Week

Down Town Beirut… On my way to Sophie’s Choice

There are two phrases I love: “How’s Everything?” and “All good” Because actually what really matters is “Are you happy in general?” No one cares, if your boyfriend has the flue, if your sales are skyrocketing, if you’ve been going regularly to the gym or if your parents are free of back problems. What really matters is how you wake up in the morning: Happy, confused, sad or hopeful…

And to tell you the truth I really hope we all will wake up every morning, happy enough to wake up with a smile, confused enough to make our brains work twice as hard, scared enough to want to give it our best and always hopeful that “Everything does and will happen for a reason”.

I love this picture. Theses sisters look like twins

Actually I started writing in this state of mind because my past week has been a very exciting one on so many different levels… I’ve been to Jessica K’s winter collection launch in Sophie’s Choice Boutique in Beirut, Spent a fun and blunt night with very close friends in Centrale (one of my favorite bars in Beirut), enjoyed good food and fun secrets.  Jessica K outfit

From The Closet CLause: Madame Reve Made Me Reve

Madame Rêve Made Me Reve

If you are an Instagram follower you have probably figured out my obsession with bracelets. Arm candies. Or simply put arm parties. I love the jingle jangle bangle cling clink noise of bracelets when they slam against another. I am probably also excited cause it’s Christmas too, I feel like I owe this to Santa.
The new additions to my arm party have been the reason behind my excitement lately. I have known Madame Rêve for some time now, but walking around ABC few days ago, I spotted this whole new line she has of particularly thin bracelets with ornaments in the center. It’s Christmas on my arm. Ta Da! Love at first sight and six of those just immediately landed on my arm.
What I particularly love is their vintage feel and the unlimited multitude of choices and colors. Arm Party Galore.
Check out their website or visit Lebelik to buy.

And speaking of Good News, I would like to introduce to you Deema Al Alami…. With her sister Jiyan they launched J Walking in Style in Amman in August 2009… two years later they are on Lebelik… J Walking in Style is the first non-Lebanese designer on Lebelik… I’m excited, we’re expanding…

Anja… Not Fully German, Not Totally Lebanese

I met Anja a couple of months ago… We started talking and half way through the conversation, she mentioned she was half Lebanese and half German… I was happy to practice  my German and excited to know all about her stories, her inspirations and her passions… It turned out she is the exact mix between Orient and Occident…  She had an early start into the world of art. Already having majored in fine arts in Germany, she then moved to Lebanon at the age of 18 where she started her studies at ESMOD (l’Ecole Supérieure des Arts et techniques de la Mode) the following year. Graduating in 2007 and after several internships in both Germany and Lebanon, she decided to launch her new brand “Anja”. She designs from her heart to the hearts of those wearing and enjoying her items.

The mix of simplicity and a love for detail give every collection its unique identity.
