Nathalie Karam is a Lebanese/Armenian born fashion designer from Beirut. Her passion for design started when she was 3 years old thanks to her mom who used to sew her own dresses and then started helping her sew clothes for her doll. Ever since she was at school, all she ever did was draw dresses on the table, so she decided that she wants to spend her life as a fashion designer. She went to ESMOD as soon as she graduated and studied Fashion Design and Pattern Making for 3 years, where she won the first prize award for best designer, twice. After that she worked at Ashi Studio and Zuhair Murad where she got to the position of head designer. Her inspiration comes from today’s modern woman which means that her style is influenced by the 70’s disco music generation and 80’s classic menswear. She absolutely loves mixing androgynous feminine cuts and fabrics, and describes her collection as “Dresses with Power”. Her main muses are Bianca Jagger, Jane Birkin, Diana Ross and Marilyn Monroe, and her number one inspiration is Stella McCartney. Nathalie has opened her first showroom in 2016 and is looking forward to give a great image for Lebanese designers around the world by trying to dress as many women as she can, from all ages and body types.
